Frequently asked questionsDo I need an internet connection?
No. All word packs are bundled inside the app and your progress is stored locally on your device. yodict works fully offline.
Do I need to create an account?
No sign-up is required. Just download the app and start learning. Because there's no account, your progress lives on your device.
When does a word count as “learned”?
yodict uses spaced repetition (the SM-2 algorithm). A word becomes “learned” after several correct reviews spread over time, once its review interval passes about three weeks. Miss a word and it comes back sooner.
How do I turn reminders on or off?
Open the Profile tab and toggle “Reminders”. You can enable or disable daily notifications at any time from there.
The pronunciation stops my music. What can I do?
On the latest version, word playback mixes with your background music and only briefly lowers its volume. Make sure you're on the newest version from the store.
How do I request data deletion?
Since progress is stored only on your device, deleting the app removes it. For any personal data held by us, email support@yodict.com — see our Privacy Policy for details.
